31 march 2006 front.5
one half of the front is finished. and rather than have you look at the curly little tube it was, i actually pinned it out. i'm on gauge, but it still is going to be bigger than i thought. more a failure of my imagination than the sizing.
the colors are more true in this picture. as is the rolling.
23 march 2006 fo fo fo
okay! it's been a while but i have been knitting in the little moments caught between housework and workwork and exercisework. and though one of them, another small one skein wonder, has currently gone missing, here are pictures of the other two!
i finished up the knitting of the klee scarf whilst in atlanta for a conference. and ye, verily, there were many many many ends, each of which i needed to weave.
and weave i did! i just sat down in front of the television and kept at it. first working sequentially through them, then randomly, then by colour -- anything to break up the monotony. i was afraid all the weavings would show, but amazingly, you can't see a one of them. it is absolutely gorgeous and i have worn it more times than i can count already; it is destined to be a wardrobe staple.
then, in a finishing mood, i finally finished the second sock for my sister.
i used a six point decrease for both the toe and the afterthought heel; the picking up of stitches in the corners of the afterthought heel went a little better this time, but still needs work. i just used a little extra yarn and tightened up the corners on both pairs of socks and now there is nary a hole to be seen.
right now i am working on a cardigan for a friend's brand new baby boy. pictures to follow when they are interesting enough to look at.
