green.girl knitting: commentary

31 may 2006 stitch by stitch

i usually measure progress in chunks -- body pieces, rows, pattern repeats. this sweater? it seems to want to move in stitches. one at a time. a few here, a few there, slowly, slowly building. the back is the last major piece that needs to be knit. it may be a while -- there are a lot of little stitches to go.

14 may 2006 the mama

she is why i get to celebrate mother's day. we spent the morning on the back porch, she blowing bubbles and running around like a wildebeest, me knitting and watering the flowers.

i finally, finally, finished the sleeves for the baby sweater last night. so very painful they were. so, now i must make haste and start the back so that i can assemble and ship it off. poor child, thinking i don't adore him because no giftie has arrived.

i worked some more of the red throw for mrs. t this morning. it is so hard to get a good picture of the red -- it is a little cooler than it appears here; though it seems pink in places, it does have a slight blue undertone. it is knitting up quite quickly, when i actually knit on it, so no panicking that it won't be done by the end of the school year. yet.

and just because i wanted to see what it would like all knitted up, here is a very long swatch of the easter rainbow yarn. this might end up being a front and back of something. or the middle of something. or it might be totally ripped back. we'll see...
