green.girl knitting: commentary

24 september 2006 finally

at long last, the completed cardigan. i am fairly happy with it, and will eventually have some more detailed pictures when i give it a project page.

i had enough yarn left over to make a happy little hat as well. i may trim the pompom a little more, to make it appear denser, but it is quite sassy as is, i think.

also, i fulled the blue bag i started last month. so far so good. i need to find a good strap, or material for same, and also a zipper as i think it warrants one. i'm also thinkig about sewing a zipper into my rosedale, at long last. i'll keep you posted.

23 september 2006 first day of fall

i think tomorrow i shall have a picture of a finished cardigan and matching hat for the poor neglected baby boy born in the spring.

in the meantime, my office is moving locations so there has been much packing up and purging. here are the current work projects; each is done with rather wretched acrylic yarn that someone left in my office. i'll have half a bag left after these are done, as well as a little box of six cheap eyelash yarns. maybe i switch to fluffy scarves next.

this is dark brown. it is looking to be a hat of some sort. maybe a pixie hat, maybe not.

this is a really really coarse, bulky tan. i am finger knitting tubes that i will eventually braid into some sort of scarf. i am particularly proud of my use of the plastic fork to hold the knitting in progress.

this is a medium brown, and the softest of the lot. it started as a panta headband, but somewhere along the line i lost not only my place in the pattern, but my pattern. one of these days, i'll figure it out and finish it off. i could really use something to tame my hair at the office; i have a very bad habit of running my hands through my hair when things get crazy, and they are always crazy. more often than not, i look like a total wildebeest at the end of the day.
