green.girl knitting: commentary

in the past month, i've been out of town twice -- once business and once pleasure -- and had a house guest -- pleasure. and while i have had a lot of fun and very many adventures, i haven't knit much at all. meeting knitting, it is the only saving grace.

there is no way this wll be done by the middle of may, so i think i need to reset my internal gift clock and aim for christmas. unless work devolves into nothing but meetings, in which case, it may be ready for the fourth of july!

there have been meetings, so there has been some prgress on the squares blanket. i really should take a picture of the back as well, since almost all the ends so far have been woven in. i could not bear the thought of leaving them all until the end...

in june of last year i knit myself a happy fuzzy warm little scarf out of fleece artist peter rabbit. and i loved it, as did our very lovely receptionist. and as i happened to be wearing it on her last day of work last month, i gave it to her. and immediately regretted it. not the giving, because she was charming and completely deserving of the scarf, but the no longer having of it for myself. so i did what any knitter would do, i bought more yarn and started another scarf. i could no longer find the same colorway so i went with one similar -- no greens, less browns, more muted pinks. and i will love it. a lot. and won't give it to the new receptionist.
