we have a new computer! i can't find my photoshop le disc! i am going crazy trying to un-xp and vista my fingers which have a pretty strong muscle memory for doing things old style! it is both a blessing and a curse, the new computer, but mostly a blessing, now that it is mostly set up.
rather unusually, work has been all work and no meetings so progress on the blanket has slowed to a crawl. i am fairly close to having the first strip done, which leaves five more strips, i think. as it grows, it starts to get more awkward so i will be breaking out the old knitting backwards skills, so as to avoid the whole twisting and turning thing.
not much progress on the new socks, either. which i why i joined the summer of socks. maybe peer pressure will get it going for me. i am just starting the gusset increases for the heel so not even halfway there on sock number one.
no more pictures, but a few more updates:
1. wooly mammoth shrug was seamed and then unseamed so i can add a few more inches across the back. i am very broad. but i liked it, even in its tightness, so i shall knit those inches so i can reseam and then decide if there is to be more knitting on it or not.
2. peter rabbit ii, the very fuzzy and soft scarf, is done, though i think i have the ends to weave in; its gone into hiding at the moment. i really should track it down.
3. i am expecting a small box of yarn in the mail this week. and once it arrives i must find all my spare minutes and all my resolution and all my advil for the aching fingers and knit furiously for sophie's teacher's end of year gift. the swallowtail shawl is currently the front-runner pattern but it may end up being something more simple. i do know it will be brown, though.
