06 march 2011 new
rather unbelievably, the small child's sweater fits the small child. photos to follow, if we have a day cool enough for her to wear it.
so, now i can start new things! i have another new baby cousin so i am looking for just the right pattern for her. i'll probably figure it out before the end of the month. in the meantime, i am knitting up a lightweight shawl for my sister.
my mother has to have surgery the end of this month and i have to be out of town on business. luckily, my sister was able to get off work and she will fly out and watch over the mama and the father and the small child amidst all the chaos. and because she is doing that, and because i am rather fond of her regardless of her behaviour, i am making her a new shawl. she is living in hawaii now, so i wanted something a little less wool and a little more tropics friendly. i was looking through Sock Yarn One-Skein Wonders and saw a shawl i liked and lo, it was knit from tofutsies, a skein of which i just happened to have in the stash.
in old knitting news, i have lost yet another one of my size 5 double point needles. the mitts shall never be finished...
