the small child has requested an item.
so, because she is good and because she asked, we went to the store and bought yarn.

i'm trying to not forget about this project.
and not very successfully, i might add. the problem is threefold: not as many meetings, so not as much knitting time in the office; it is larger, so it is getting a little more unwieldy; the needles are too bloody long.
i tried to get a picture of just how long they are, and failed. fourteen inches! what was i thinking? each module is about 1 1/2 inches square, so it is total overkill. and they are so long, when i try to knit at desk or a meeting table, they are constantly banging and clicking on the surface. annoying, and noisy.
homework: find shorter size 6 needles. or just buy a pair.
also? look how ends have already been dealt with. i'm going to really appreciate that later.
