new shawl taking shape.
don't know what i was thinking when i bought this yarn; it is very...colorful.

blocked and ready.
i'm not in love with this almost half circle shape, but i like the feathery aspects of it. and the not at all small child is pleased so it's all good. she might or might not wear it to see cas, but it will at least always remind her of the cas-obsessed era of her life.
it is biasing a bit, probably because i blocked it on a mattress leaned against the wall, rather than flat on a bed; no one was willing to give up their bed for the cause. no worries, i'll find an opportunity to reblock sooner or later.

once more, with feeling.
after blocking the blue sparkly business, i cast on for another shawl, just to keep the knitting mojo stoked.
this yarn was originally going to be socks, but i changed my mind. i think i will only knit socks out of german wool/nylon blends as they seem to be the sort that last the longest in my world. and if i am going to go to all the trouble of knitting the bloody things, i want them to last more than a month or two.

blocking is ten times harder than it used to be, what with thin pins combined with numb fingers, poor angles and poorer lighting.
and cat.
always with cat, around here. the blur is probably the evilness radiating from her dark and twisted soul. or it could just be bad photography. but probably the evil.

done
all sections knit, bound off, ends woven in.
now to find a place to block it. probably prop up an old twin-sized mattress in the hall and hope for the best.
