green.girl knitting: commentary

the hazards of knitting with the window open...

rather a lovely christmas preview, yes?

longer and longer.

3 4-row sets are about as much as my hands can deal with in a single setting, but those 12 rows start to add up.

it might end up being as wide as the whole dashboard at this point, which would be just fine, according to the kid. there are, indeed, myriad versions of this hat in the link universe -- some very long and some very short -- and she is good with either. i can't lose.

getting close to having to find the double point needles.

once i remember what size this circular is...

26 september 2017

the rounds are now under 100 stitches each so it will go faster and faster.

i love the ridge the decreases are making.

25 september 2017

did some basic math to figure out if the length is going to work out.

i think i might need to increase the rate of decrease at some point or it's going to be really long. on the other hand, it being really long may be the desired effect.

i'll have to check with the kid.

if i lay it out like this, you can see the decreases. sort of. this is going to be one long hat...

or not. i had the child try it on and it is so much shorter when on a proper sized head.

at least my worries it would be too long appear to have been without merit. i need to do a little math and see if i can calculate how much longer it is going to be a this rate, in case it is too small, god forbid...

on the plus side, ithink there are about 9 million versions of link's hat in the zelda universe so it will probaby match up to at least one.

this is going to look exactly the same forever and ever.

only longer.

i've started decreasing but it'll take a while for even that to show.

managed to grab a couple of shots of the finished blanket in natural light before handing it over. i wish i'd blocked it flat so the weight wouldn't have left the waves around the edges, but it'll do

10 september 2017

watching football and blocking the baby blanket; the shower is tuesday, so i cut it a little close

as long as the pins and mattress are out, might as well block the excessively colorful shawl as well

back at it: knitting in the car whilst waiting for the kid to get out of school, special friday edition. and back to working on the green hat. i think another inch then i can start the very gradual decreases
